OFFICIALS' ASSIGNMENTS

Pete has now issued the assignments for November and these can be viewed in Members' area on the web at http://bafra.org/members/assign/index.htm. Note that the Birmingham games this Saturday kicks off at 6:30pm.

Any queries should be directed to Pete at operations@bafra.org.

AMENDED FIELD AUDIT FORM

A reminder that we are carrying on with the Field Audit throughout the college league season and will be making a John Slavin award to the team with the best field markings at the end of it.

We have issued a slightly modified Field Audit Form, and it can be downloaded from the same place on the web (http://www.bafra.org/members/paperwork/index.htm). The new form incorporates a new category (field width) and slightly changed wordings in one or two other categories. You can use up any printed stock you have of the old form UNLESS the field is of a non-standard width. Please use the new one for any forms you need to print out in future.

BACFL TEAMS

There has been some activity on the BSAFA Forum http://www.bsafa.com/bsafaforum/showthread.php?t=105 regarding those BCAFL teams who have paid their subs and who have not. BAFRA's view at this stage is that we will continue to supply officials where we can until the league makes a decision.

Where we have no contact details for a team, let's turn up at their previous venue for a 1pm kickoff, allowing a little bit of extra time in case we have to drive elsewhere.

2006 MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL

The period in which the £5 discount applies has now passed, and all renewals must now be at the full price of £40.

BCAFL LEAGUE

BCAFL have confirmed that their league regulations (those rules where leagues are allowed to decide what happens) remain unchanged from last year. The key aspects are:

1-3-2-e-3The official league ball is the Wilson F1000 (The "NFL Ball").
3-3-3-c/dThe score stands if a game is abandoned in the second half. If a game is suspended and not resumed, or abandoned before half time, refer the details to the league for a decision.
13-6-3NCAA-style overtime (extra periods) is used in ALL tied games (regular season as well as playoffs)
13-6-415-minute quarters unless the game needs to be shortened because of light

Remember, BCAFL will be following the BAFA rule regarding medical requirements precisely, so you may see instances where there is no ambulance present, but there is a doctor or paramedic. Also remember, that there is a list of other mandatory facilities that must be present too, including a first aid kit containing splints, a stretcher and a phone. It is up to game management, not the officials, to confirm the qualifications of the doctor or paramedic.

Full details are at http://www.bafra.org/rulesctee/docs/leagueregs.htm.
