REFERENDUM
All BAFRA members will shortly receive through the post a question paper asking you whether you agree that BAFRA should become a company limited by guarantee.
Included with this question paper there will be a set of notes explaining the more important changes.
For a full text of the new constitution, please visit the website at http://www.bafra.org/members/legal/company.htm.
This is an important change for BAFRA and all members are urged to use their vote.

HEAD COACHS REPORT CARDS
Recently I have received quite a few requests for Coaches Cards.
It is my intention to send out Referee Game Day Packs around the end of September for use during the College season and these will include a supply of Coaches Cards.
However, if you need some cards before the end of the BAFL season just drop me an email and I will get some sent out.

ROGER'S RHETORIC
| From last week |
Play:
A's ball, 4th and 4, on A's 48. A7's punt bounces on B's 8 and rolls to B's 4 where it touches B43's leg. A84 muffs the rolling ball into B's end zone where B39 and A51 simultaneously recover the ball.
Ruling:
Touchback. B's ball, 1st and 10, on B's 10. The ball remains a live ball when it enters B's end zone since B43 touched the ball after the kick crosses the neutral zone.
The impetus for the ball being in B's end zone is the punt.
When opposing players, each eligible to touch the ball, simultaneously recover a rolling kick or catch a scrimmage kick, the simultaneous possession makes the ball dead.
A kick declared dead in joint possession of opposing players is awarded to the receiving team. (CCA00090)

| New this week |
Extra period. First series. A's ball, 2nd and 8, on B's 23. A37 advances to B's 14 where he fumbles. B22 recovers and advances to A's 17 where he fumbles. A84 recovers and advances for an apparent touchdown. B93 is offside. A78 grabs B22's face mask during B22's run.

Two unsportsmanlike fouls - the first was to throw his helmet to the ground whilst on the field of play, and the second was a threat to an opponent to get him after the game.

The game was suspended for 30 minutes to treat an injured Glasgow player who was removed from the pitch by the ambulance crew.
They then, left the grounds to transfer the player to an incoming County ambulance which meant we had to delay the game a further 20 minutes.
It was at this point with the agreement of both Head Coaches that it was decided to take half-time and play the remaining 6 minutes of the second quarter together with the whole of the second half.

All field markings were inadequate.
The Endzones were shortened so that the pitch was could be lenghtened to 90 yards.
The game was graced with a Clump(the collective noun)of officials who watched from the side lines after their game had finished near by.
Plaudits too for both teams who played good hard physical football.

The ambulance was involved in a RTA on its way to the stadium, and we had to wait 30 minutes for a replacement to arrive.

Goals were soccer goals with extended uprights. There was also a hammer-net with stanchions positioned too close to the field of play - after this was pointed out to home management the posts were padded.

One set of hashmarks extremely faint, rest of lines slightly faint, only 2 balls in good condition provided by home team so we used a ball provided by the away team, chain crew quite slow, holes in field surface had been filled in with sand.

There were no 5 yard lines, the endzone at one end was 8 yards and the short yard-line extensions at the inbounds line were to far apart so cones were used instead.
The game was suspended for 30 minutes for a Dundee to be taken to hospital with what looked like a serious neck injury.
Once again Plaudits for both teams who played a hard fought and entertaining game in poor conditions.

Chain crew were changed at half time without warning and we had to wait until they had been re-briefed before we could start the second half.
There is also no separate toilet in the changing rooms and the shower is at the end of the corridor (you have to share with the teams).
