The following teams have now prepaid for the 2007-8 University season
Birmingham
Essex
Bristol
Uni of West of England
All other teams must pay on the day, within 30 minutes of the referee declaring the game over. Please ensure that the home team management have an invoice prior to the game starting and remind them of the requirement to ensure payment.
THE BAFRA FEE THIS SEASON IS £60, whenever the game is played.
Teesside overpaid last year and have the first game prepaid.
Aberystwyth and Staffordshire have now cleared debts from last season and are therefore reinstated. In the previous issue of Newsflash it was stated that Edinburgh owe money, that was incorrect – the Edinburgh Wolves owe no money to BAFRA.
Glasgow are prepaying their BAFRA game fees, so should only pay the referees on the day.

MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS
If you have sent in your renewal and are not on the above list, please contact me. If you do not intend renewing, I would appreciate an e-mail letting me know that. It would be helpful if you would state your reasons – these will be kept confidential. So far three members have contacted me saying they are not renewing membership.
Please note that any renewals received after 1st November are £60-00. I will be contacting to those who have not replied to their renewal letter over the next couple of days as a final reminder. Now that the main renewal period is concluded, I will not be publishing a list of further renewals in Newsflash but will send an e-mail acknowledging receipt.
Please note that it will not be possible to contact me for a week from 3rd November. If there is anything urgent during that time please contact Russell Newton or one of the other Directors.

NEXT HOME GAME |

London Cobras |
The
field markings were blue. The field was marked at every 10 yards
rather than at every 5. The numbers were given as "9 yard
marks" - i.e. "9" at what was actually the 10, "18"
at what was the 20, "27" at the 30 and "36" at
the 40. The field was 90 yards in length and very sandy. We
discovered two metal covers for what were presumably sprinkler
points during the second quarter and the game was suspended for 8
minutes while they were covered with sand. The changing rooms are
shared with the public but have lockers. |
