GAME MANAGEMENT AUDIT

Recent feedback from the posting of scores for the John Slavin Award on the website has revealed that not all crews are sharing the results of the field audit with game management. The point of the award is to improve game management standards, teams will only do this if they know where they are going wrong.

I urge crews to share the results of the field audit with game management prior to leaving the ground.

Peter Parsons #321

Distance from Goal Line to 10 Yard line was only 9.5yds. Coaching Line less than 6 feet from sideline on both sides of the field. Second line to mark Team area less than 12 feet from sideline on both sides of the field. No second box was present, therefore all coaches and players for both teams were in the box. Sidelines and several of the 5 yard lines were crooked. Field audit scored 111 in total. Game Suspended for 7 minutes due to an injury to one of the chain crew.

Both coaches agreed to play with different coloured numbers/ panels on shirts. The match was played without problem or confusion. The crew would like to offer plaudits for the excellent attitude of the players and coaches of both teams. It was a hard-fought game played in very windy conditions that was a superb advert for the game.

No separate referee's changing room. Referees had to change in shower area.

END ZONE

PLAY OF THE WEEK:

New this week

Play: Player A67 is verbally abusive to an official during the 2nd quarter and penalised for unsportsmanlike conduct. During the 3rd quarter A67 is outside the team area, between the coaches box and the sideline. A67 is warned to return to the team area, he does so but drifts back towards the sidelines during the next play. An official on the sideline accidentally runs into A67 during the play and falls over. Ruling?

Ruling?

Last week's play

Play: A's ball, 4th and 11, on B's 43. QB A17 takes the snap and places the ball on the ground on B's 46. A68 turns and then picks up the ball and advances to B's 27.

Ruling: No foul. This is not a planned loose ball in the vicinity of the snapper. The ball becomes dead when A68 recovers the 4th down fumble by A17. The advance would be legal on other than fourth down.
