Glen Schild at BAFL has informed us that, due to various factors, they did not manage to implement the planned league wide system of credentials for sideline personnel in time for this past weekend's games, but that his will be resolved in time for next week.
The "various factors" included the withdrawal from the league this season of the London Olympians, and the consequent changes made to the fixture list, and also problems due to the non-delivery of a shipment including new balls and the bibs for ball boys/chain crew. Reports are that they have been held up by Dutch customs because the shipment also includes a number of "dangerous weapons" (i.e. baseball bats)!
As a result of the Olympians' pull-out and other changes to the fixture list (including postponement of the game at Sussex Thunder on the 20th), a new schedule for the remainder of April has been sent out by Pete Johnson. Please check where you now are on 20th and 27th of the month.
Some good news. BAFL have produced a 35-minute documentary filmed at last season's Brit Bowl weekend. See it at http://www.bafl.org.uk/artman2/publish/league/ BAFL_launches_the_road_to_BritBowl_XXII.asp. Their start of season podcast can also be heard from a link on the same page.
A reminder that, if you haven't already done so, please return your Convention Feedback Form to me at training@bafra.org.

I repeat below an e-mail that was sent to all members last week.
“Ladies and
Gentlemen,
Information has been
omitted from Question 11 which makes it impossible to say whether the answer is
true or false. As some papers have already been returned and in the
interests of fairness to all, Question 11 is void and all papers will be
credited with a correct answer to that question.
I apologise on
behalf of the Examination Committee.”
In addition may I re-emphasise the requirement to put the correct postage on the envelope when you return the answer sheet. The envelope the exam was sent in is above the size for ordinary first or second class stamps. If it, or anything larger, is used to post the answer sheet back it requires a 42p stamp (second class) or a 52p stamp (first class). As a single sheet does not require such a large envelope, may I suggest you use a smaller envelope and save yourselves money!

Our best wishes for a speedy recovery to Muz Gibson who tore a calf muscle on Sunday and expects to miss 4-5 weeks of the season.

A correction to one of last week's disciplinary cases. Gareth Price (#69 Bedfordshire Blue Raiders) reportedly served his suspension during their pre-season game against Leicester on 30th March, and was therefore allowed to play against Colchester last week.
