SIDELINE AND TEAM AREA CREDENTIALS
BAFL have sent out the following message to their teams:
“You should all be aware of the new rule for this season regarding sideline and team area discipline and identification. In summary the rule states that everyone in the team area that is not dressed to play
must carry some form of identification which is colour coded to identify:
• Coaches (Blue)
• Medic (Green*)
• All other sideline (Yellow)
As announced at previous meetings the league is currently also arranging for ball boy/chain crew bibs to be made available to all teams. These are not here yet but in the meantime the following procedures apply to all Adult Contact and Youth Contact games.
Those teams playing this weekend should receive in the post generic cards. All other teams will receive cards next week.
You will note that we have changed the medic card colour to red to help differentiate better. These are required to be worn as described by all team members indicated on the official game roster form. Please
note that the roster form is still the official record.
Also please note that shortly we will be issuing personalised cards to Active BAFCA Coaches (ie: those who have level 1 or more) and these will replace the coaches card above.
At that point we will issue a further instruction to destroy the coach card above. All candidate coaches will be required to wear the sideline or medic card as appropriate.
Finally, please note that the wearing of these cards does not verify that the individuals hold the necessary medical or coaching qualifications.”

PLAUDITS
Congratulations to Bolton Bulldogs and Sheffield Tomahawks on a keenly fought and entertaining first competitive match for both teams. Despite the penalty count (32, including 15 majors), both teams played hard, fairly and were enthusiastic, just making rookie mistakes and procedural errors. I know my crew enjoyed the game hugely, the feedback we both received and given back to the teams post game was excellent. It was a pleasure to officiate!!

GET WELL SOON
Another official who has suffered an injury is Dan Bell. Dan has damaged some ankle ligaments and will be out a few weeks. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Milton Keynes City Pathfinders |
No 9 yard marks or numbers. The team areas were marked between the 30 yard lines. Officials changing room was too small for one person, let alone 5. Local council had changed locks on the original rooms and so we had to use rugby referees' room. Outstanding hospitality by home team - 1st class . Brian Yates #29 |

Bolton Bulldogs |
Field marked incorrectly with crooked GL and 10 yard lines - asked for remarking. No 3 yard markings. Goals were soccer goals, wider than football posts and crossbar lower than normal. Home team could provide no legal balls. Used two legal balls from away team. Ball boy on away sideline disappeared during 2nd Q and did not reappear for 3rd and 4th Q. Mike Cavanagh #465 |
