CONVENTION COUNTDOWN
It’s just a few days now until our biggest Convention for many a year. The preparation work is done and all we need to do now is turn up and make the most of the weekend. The final count is now 71 registered to attend.
Welcome Desk
The Welcome Desk will be open between 9:00am - 9:30am on the Saturday morning and will be located in the Wake Green Suite.
A few things will happen when you arrive at the Welcome Desk. Firstly you will need to sign-in, then you will pick up your Convention Pack. This will contain the following items:
25th Anniversary Gift
GIAF Folder
Programme of Events
2009 BAFA Rule Book
DVD and Review Notes
Game Day Paperwork Packs
BAFRA Business Cards
Writing Pad and Pen
I.D. Badge
You will then be shown to the Main Convention Hall where Tea and Coffee will be available. We have quite a lot to get through during the day so I would ask that everyone makes the effort to be there as early as possible. We will start at 9:30am prompt.
Housekeeping Notes
Rooms will be available from 2:00pm on your day of arrival. We will probably have a room available where bags can be stored until you check-in. I will arrive at the hotel around 4:00pm on the Friday and Charlie will be there around 7:30pm. If you have any problems please let us know. An accommodation list and directions to the hotel are attached this edition of Newsflash

I look forward to meeting everyone at the Convention and I’m sure we will all have an enjoyable weekend.

Officials' changing room not available on arrival. Field marked almost entirely with cones. The end lines and midfield lines were the only marked lines. Plaudits to both teams for making do with the extremely limited field.. Alan Dobson #308 |

Hampshire Thrashers |
Whilst the ambulance turned up to the venue on time there was a delay of 20 minutes whilst they tried to get to the field the game was played on. The entrance to the track they needed to get to was padlocked and another entrance had to have numerous bollards before the ambulance could pass. Colin Willox #539 |
