FINAL REMINDER

This is a final reminder that the selection committee will be meeting this weekend to select crews for this year’s BAFL prestige games. There are a number of members with no availability listed for September. I urge you to check your availability and if required send me an update before 5pm on Friday August 21st. At this time I will be producing the necessary reports for Saturdays selection meeting and any availability updates after that time will miss the cut.

SAD NEWS

We are sad to report the death of Alan Newcombe of Maidstone Pumas during the game against East Kent Mavericks on August 16th. On behalf of everyone in BAFRA, I'd like to express our condolences to Alan’s family, friends and team mates.

If any game management would like to hold a minute's silence before next week's game, please do so.

PLAUDITS – CHESTER V EDINBURGH

Plaudits to teams for a hard hitting fun game, with plenty of communication with both teams and cooperation with our three man crew. Special plaudits to Kat from the Wolves, as she tells me she has

never had plaudits before ...

END ZONE

PLAY OF THE WEEK:

New this week

Play: A's ball on B's 3, try. The score is A20-B21. Time expired in the 4th quarter during A39's touchdown run. QB A17 completes a forward pass to A88 in B's end zone. The pass was thrown from B's 2.
Ruling?

Last week's play

Play: A's ball, 2nd and 10, on A's 20. QB A15 scrambles to A's 21 where he throws a pass to A83. B43 pushes A83 out of the way at A's 45, intercepts and runs to A's 10 where he fumbles. B43 recovers while grounded on A's 5.
Ruling: A15 throws an illegal forward pass when he throws a pass from beyond the neutral zone. Pass interference is applicable only during a legal forward pass. A defensive player may legally push an opponent in an attempt to reach a loose ball. The ruling is the same regardless of the down. B's ball, 1st and goal, on A's 5.
