BRITBOWL WEEKEND INFORMATION

Location

The Keepmoat Stadium is situated 1.5 miles off of Junction 3 of the M18

Stadium/Field Access

The league will be issuing wristbands for access to the field. These will only be issued to authorised individuals. In our case those officiating or assessing games and those representing BAFRA on official business (basically board members). Wristbands will be a different colour for each of the 2 days. Details of how to collect the wristbands will be circulated to the crews and officials prior to the event.

Concessionary rate

BAFRA members scheduled to officiate one of the events can gain access to the stadium as a spectator for the day they are not officiating for a concessionary entrance fee of £5.00. All other BAFRA members attending as spectators will need to pay the full £10.00 entrance fee.

Sidelines

BAFL have informed us that in each of this year's games both teams will share the same sideline. There is a rule that covers this (1-2-4-e) but we need to address some mechanics aspects. Next week's Newsflash will contain full details.

MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS

Membership renewals are due from 1st October. Letters have gone out to all members this week. With the current postal situation, please let me know if you have not received yours by 23rd September.

If for any reason you do not wish to renew, please let me know (with your reason if you wish to share it) and I will not pester you with reminders. I will keep your reason confidential unless you wish me to share it wider.

You will also find the annual survey of members with your renewal form. Please send this back along with your renewal payment. We are now building up some useful time-series data from this survey, and, as always, I will publish the results in the New Year.

If anyone had any queries about the renewal or the survey, please get in touch with me.

GRAPHICS DESIGNER WANTED

BAFRA need a large version of the BAFRA logo producing. Currently I only have the BAFRA logo in JPEG and Bitmap format, we need someone capable of drawing the BAFRA logo in a large format suitably for printing on a large banner of poster (up to 5 feet high). I would prefer something in scalable format, e.g. SVG, however any suitable suggestions for creating a large version of the BAFRA logo are appreciated.

END ZONE

PLAY OF THE WEEK:

New this week

Play: Team A scores a touchdown to make the score A35-B37. Eight seconds remain in the fourth quarter. On the try, QB A17 is hit on B's 9 as his arm comes forward attempting to pass. A17 catches the ball on B's 7 and immediately throws a complete pass from B's 7 to A88 in B's end zone.
Ruling?

Last week's play

Play: Overtime. A's ball on B's 25, 4th and 10. A4's field goal attempt is wide left. A36 is illegally in motion. B54 commits a personal foul (post scrimmage kick enforcement) on B's 12 during the kick.
Ruling: During regulation play, Team B could decline offsetting fouls and take the ball with the penalty optionally accepted for their foul. This rule is not available in overtime. The fouls are offsetting. A's ball on B's 25, 4th and 10. (NOTE: The ruling would be the same if the kick was successful).
