2010 EXAMINATION
To date (Wednesday 21st April) I have received answer sheets from Ashley Allen, Graham Baker, Lee Baker, Ian Ball, Andrew Binns, Bernard Bradley, Dan Bridgland, Colin Bright, Amir Brooks, Alisha Cockerill, Martin Cockerill, Graham Coleman, Phil Cottier, Charles Dean-Young, Tim Fisher, Gordon Galloway, Cameron Gibson, Murray Gibson, Paul Gillings, Ray Grace, David Graves, Ben Griffiths, Graham Hedges, Pete Johnson, David Knight, Mike LeFevre, Andrew Lovell, Julian Mallia, Lee Mills, Russell Newton, Tim Ockendon, Richard Prattley, Alun Price, Larry Rigby, Tony Rivers, Richard Samples, Nobby Scott, Scott Silver, Ian Sneddon, Lee Sowden, Lee Stephenson, Ron Vale, Tim Vickers, Ian Wainwright, Mark Wilson, Lee Wood, Dean Wright and Brian Yates. I will keep this list updated on a weekly basis throughout the exam period. I remind people that a field diagram is available on the website for those who require it.
The examination must be returned to me by Saturday 24th April at the latest, unless an extension has been granted. As it says on the preamble to the exam, extensions may only be granted by the Director of Training; the Examination Committee do not have this authority. As the Directors are still debating the best option regarding the appointment of the Director of Training, applications for extension should be sent to Davie Parsons until otherwise notified. Davie may be contacted via either president@bafra.org or training@bafra.org.
Because of applications for extensions that have been granted, any paper received by first post on 4th May will be marked. However, if you have not been granted an extension, any paper received after 24th April will be subject to a penalty. I remind all qualified members that, if you fail to return you paper, you will lose qualified status and be required to sit a competency exam then complete a further 10 games as an associate member before you may regain your qualified status. For associate members, you are strongly encouraged to submit an exam so that you, and your trainer may see how you are progressing.
Results will be sent out individually after the exam period closes.

It was reported to me with 50 seconds remaining that the down box operator had a two way radio, which he had used to update the scoreboard operator and the commentator errors on the board. Lancashire had objected claiming an unfair advantage. By rule no offence had occurred, unless the league has sanctions. This was a great game with a 50yard field goal, and both sides playing good hard football. Charlie Dean-Young #258 |

No numbers or 9 yard marks. No sideline markers to indicate yard lines. Home team only had a down box - fortunately one of the officials had a chain set in the boot of his car! Chain crew changed at half-time. Game kicked off 5 minutes late due to late arrival of ambulance. However, offsetting the above, we had an officials changing room with leather armchairs and a private bar! Jim Briggs #31 |
