Referee's Signal Number 37 - Ineligible Receiver Downfield | |

When usedThis signal is used by the Referee to indicate that an ineligible receiver has gone downfield during a forward pass. Only players who are in the offensive backfield or on either end of the line of scrimmage and wearing numbers other than 50-79 are eligible Penalty5 yard penalty from the previous spot. How executedBegin the motion with your arm held at your side and place it on top of your head in an unhurried manner. Finally point to the offending team by streching an arm out from the shoulder to the horizontal. |
